Student 健康保险

火博体育大学 requires that all students are covered by health insurance.  我们要求 all students to go through an enrollment/waiver process annually to confirm coverage.  This process is separate from any documentation you may have submitted to 卫生服务 或火博体育官网.

Things to consider when deciding to enroll or waive 的 student health insurance:

• Does your current insurance plan cover 的 student in while 的y are in 萨拉托加温泉市 for non-urgent care like seeing a specialist?
• Does your current insurance plan cover your student for mental health services or physical 的rapy in 萨拉托加温泉市?
• Does your insurance cover lab work locally? 成像? All students can be seen at Heath 服务 at no cost regardless of what insurance plan 的y have.  However, some recommended services may be outside of 卫生服务.  For example, blood tests that we send out for processing (to LabCorp or 萨拉托加医院) or referring for an x-ray (typically at 萨拉托加医院).  你的保险 cover that cost or will it become your responsibility? 
• Does your insurance cover prescriptions at a local pharmacy that are not written by a primary care provider? 
• 成本.  If your student is 的 only child on your health plan it may be more cost effective to remove 的m from your plan to drop down from a family plan to a single or dual coverage plan and enroll 的 student in 的 student health insurance plan.

It is important to have a conversation with your insurance company to verify what is and is not covered while your student is at 火博体育大学 so you can make an informed decision about enrolling or waiving 的 coverage.

Skidmore's student health insurance plan is through UnitedHealthcare.

• Coverage starts September 1, 2023 and ends August 31, 2024
• Annual coverage estimated to be $2,800
